Written from the perspective of how it can be hard it can be to move past the sunken cost fallacy in relationships, the song's chorus inevitably resonates with lines such as "angles and shadows can't obscure the reasons I doubted the so-called truth, pitting my spirits up against everything I never wanted to lose".
