What is Sonic Decoy?
Sonic Decoy Records LLC is a licensed independent record label based out of Palo Alto, CA. We are a registered ASCAP publishing company, and aim to deliver music to a worldwide audience with our artists. Sonic Decoy Records was established in March 2021, and currently works with several clients to further their respective goals. What Do We Do? We specialize in up and coming alternative/rock acts across the US, offering individualized artist consultations, digital distribution, physical distribution, marketing, merchandising, marketing, promotion, and more. We work with well-known PR and distribution partners to deliver music to a worldwide audience. We additionally curate original feature content, playlists, and help promote up and coming artists beyond our own roster. Our Values We aim to grow our artists; working diligently to achieve their goals and widen their audiences. We provide our artists with the support to navigate the unbounded nuances and complexities of releasing music in the modern era. We believe in keeping open communications and fair agreements for our artists, and we believe that success manifests faster in a community of artists sharing a common network and shared goals. |
Our Foundation
Chris "Coy" Coykendall - Owner / General Manager
Coy has over 15 years of experience in music production, mixing, marketing, artist building, and audience engagement. As a Senior Technical Lead at Google, Coy is also the Head Organizer & Publicist for Google's Bay Area SRE community. Coy holds a Masters degree in Computer Science from Georgia Tech.
